BEFORE and AFTER

BEFORE and AFTER

This is a renovation of a kitchen and dining area in a single-family house. The open living area adjacent to kitchen is also used as the client’s studio. The design put emphasis on keeping the visual openness of the whole space. By enlarging around existing column the client’s photo studio equipment is stored without building additional storage and the kitchen is open yet hidden from view from the studio/living space.

All the materials are low emission and finishes are natural and water based. Cabinetry is locally made and countertops are FSC local maple. The client executed the careful restoration and finishing of the existing wood elements.
